Dr. Philip Jiamachello
Dr. Philip Jiamachello has specialized in pediatric dentistry for over 25 years. Dr. Jiamachello completed his undergraduate degree at Duke University graduating cum laude. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina-School of Dentistry.
He followed this with a residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston-Dental Branch where he also trained at Herman Hospital and M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute.
Dr .Jiamachello is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Society of Dentistry for Children, American Dental Association, Isothermal Dental Society (previous chairman) and the Gaston Dental Society. He has also been on the Board of Health for Cleveland County, Cleveland County Headstart. Dr. Jiamachello is an associate professor at UNC - School of Dentistry in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Jiamachello has practiced in Shelby since the completion of his residency. He and his wife Silvia have three children who were all born in North Carolina.
Dr. Jiamachello enjoys being with his family, hiking in the local parks, playing racquetball in town and away at tournaments and is also happy to celebrate the successes of his patients.
Kristen has been working for Dr. Jiamachello for about 1 ½ years as a dental assistant. She enjoys working with children to try to help them overcome the fear and anxiety of dental appointments. Kristen is married and has one son. In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her family.
Elaine started working with Dr. Jiamachello in the spring of 2004, as a dental hygienist. She is married and has a daughter and a son. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her horses and dogs.
Silvia has been with Dr. Jiamachello from the beginning of his dental career, as an executive assistant. She graduated from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro and received her bachelors in nursing Silvia enjoys working at the office because she feels fortunate to help the outstanding staff at Dr. Jiamachello’s office, in any way she can. In addition, seeing the many children at the office is a joy, everyday. Finally, with three awesome grown up children and also an awesome daughter-in-law living in various places throughout North Carolina, there is never a dull moment.
Cheryl has worked for Dr. Jiamachello for 17 years and she is a help in many areas. She feels working around children is wonderful, because you never know what to expect. In her free time, she enjoys boating, traveling and ushering at the Don Gibson Theatre in Shelby. Look for Cheryl when you are in downtown Shelby.
Elizabeth has enjoyed working with Dr. Jiamachello for 18 years as a dental hygienist. She has been married for 20 years and has two children, a son and a daughter. She enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.
Debbie has worked for Dr. Jiamachello for 18 years as a clinical manager. She has watched many children grow from toddlers into adults – overnight, as she sees it. She is a proud mother of a son and daughter and has been married to her high school sweetheart for 33 years. She enjoys gardening, exercising and spending time with her family (including her grand-dog Fletcher).
Joanie has worked for Dr. Jiamachello for 7 years as dental assistant. She enjoys her job very much. She is married and has two children. In her time away from work, she enjoys time with her family and friends. She loves being outdoors and many hobbies that allow her to do so.
Annette started her career in 1983 and worked five years with Dr. Bill Connor as a dental assistant. Next, Annette started working for Dr. Jiamachello, continuing as an assistant. She now works as a front office coordinator. Annette attended Western Piedmont Community College and received a degree in dental assisting. She lives in Fallston, has one daughter and a precious grandson. She enjoys catering in her spare time. Annette says she enjoys working with children because, there is never a dull moment.
